AV Matrix Delivers RCF System for UK’s First Licensed Amateur Les Misérables Production
📍 Leeds Grand Theatre, UK – RCF sound system for UK’s First Licensed Amateur Les Misérables Production
To celebrate the 40th anniversary of Les Misérables, Leeds Grand Theatre hosted the UK’s first licensed amateur production of the full musical under the national “Let the People Sing” initiative. Produced by Leeds Amateur Operatic Society (LAOS) in partnership with three other West Yorkshire groups, the project brought together a cast and crew of over 100 people. RCF’s professional partner AV Matrix provided full technical production support, including an RCF sound system tailored to the theatre’s challenging acoustics. The system featured HDL 26-A line arrays, flown in four side clusters with a central hang for even coverage, supported by RCF TT Series point source loudspeakers including TT 08-A II and TT 515-A. Low-frequency reinforcement was provided by TT+ Audio GTS 29 subwoofers in a cardioid configuration, suspended above the stage and powered by RCF XPS amplification. All routing, control and monitoring were managed via RDNet, allowing precise system tuning throughout the venue, with audience feedback praising the clarity and energy.
