Saving The Past For The Future - Backstage Treasures Rediscovered

Mike Hall, Shane Guy and Ian Grey have very different backgrounds but share a love for stage technology. Mike freelances getting big shows on, whilst Shane is working on his PhD and Ian is now (mostly) retired but very active online. They all have a fascination for backstage, particularly lighting, effects and stage machinery. This presentation is all about their own efforts to preserve the past along with other notable success stories (and failures) in their lifetimes. Shane will explain his groundbreaking work recreating wartime virtual reality and notable operatic lighting.

This session will appeal to technical staff interested in older equipment they or their predecessors may have used in the past (and sometimes still use).
