Digital Product Passports (DPPs) are moving from concept to reality and for many manufacturers, the question is no longer what they are, but how to implement them.

This session focuses on the practical steps SMEs need to take today to prepare for upcoming EU requirements under the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR), where DPPs will become a core mechanism for sharing product data across the value chain. Lisa Stafford will break down what an implementation plan actually looks like from structuring product data and aligning internal systems, to understanding what information will be required and how it flows between stakeholders.

The session will also include a live-style demonstration of a Digital Product Passport, showing both the physical layer (QR codes / tags) and the digital experience, helping attendees visualise how this could apply to their own products.

With the first requirements expected to apply to energy-related products from mid 2027, and implementation expected ahead of enforcement timelines, SMEs should already be preparing their data foundations and internal processes.

This is a practical, no-jargon session designed to help businesses move from awareness to action.
