Inclusive Pathways Into Technical Theatre - From Curiosity To Career
This seminar explores how targeted, hands-on training programmes can remove barriers and create genuine entry routes into the live events and technical theatre industry.
Drawing on the delivery of the Event Ready programme across Greater Manchester, the session shares practical models for engaging new and under-represented talent, building core technical skills in sound, lighting, AV and stage management, and connecting participants directly to real-world work opportunities.
Attendees will hear what has worked, what has been learned, and how short, intensive training combined with industry partnerships and paid placements can fast-track people into crewing, further training, and employment.
The seminar offers transferable approaches for venues, educators, producers and organisations looking to widen access, strengthen their talent pipeline, and develop a more inclusive technical workforce.
