Under The Skin Of artRDM And RDMnet
Ever wondered how your console discovers DMX luminaires, allows you to change a personality or start address? This session aims to provide a practical overview what these two control protocols are, how they are used, and importantly, a little of the theory necessary to ensure trouble free operation of networked lighting control in numerous settings where feedback from luminaries is required.
We start with a brief recap on DMX, RDM and Ethernet lighting control, then explore what artRDM and RDMnet are, what their purpose is, how they compare and complement one another.
We then go under the skin of both artRDM and RDMnet, comparing them in terms of features and capabilities but also exploring practical implications of their use in typical setups and situations.
Lastly, we cover some of the common problems and solutions to issues that might be encountered when trying to deploy systems on site.
Who is this session for?
Anyone designing, using or working with Ethernet based lighting controls, be it new to the industry or in need of a refresher.
This seminar is free to attend with a show entry badge. Seminars operate on a walk-in basis, so be sure to arrive in good time as seats are first-come-first-served.
