Expanding the system: HH Audio on feedback, connection and future growth

Professional audio brand and official show sponsor, HH Audio are set to showcase a broad portfolio of solutions at PLASA Focus Leeds. Ahead of the show, we spoke with Emma Thompson, Marketing Manager, about new product launches, the importance of industry feedback, and how the company continues to evolve within a fast-moving sector.

What do you value or enjoy the most about exhibiting at PLASA Show?

PLASA Focus provides us with a valuable opportunity to connect directly with various professionals along the distribution chain. Our day-to-day operations involve working closely with our distributors, so exhibiting at PLASA Focus is essential for us to connect and hear directly from our dealers, end-users, system integrators and others. The feedback we get as a result of exhibiting at PLASA is invaluable as it helps inform our future product development. The social side of PLASA is also a great highlight, and the official after-show party is always a fantastic event for the team after a long day on the show floor.

What products or services will you showcase at PLASA Show this year?

HH Audio will be showcasing products across all three of its core categories: commercial install, professional audio, and portable PA.

The highlight of the show is the new TNi-WX range of IP65-rated surface mount loudspeakers, making its official UK debut following the first preview at ISE earlier this year. Available in three sizes and two finishes for both indoor and outdoor applications, the range has been rigorously tested to IP65 standards, including exposure to a dust chamber and sustained exposure to high pressure water jets.

Joining the TNi-WX from our commercial install range is the MZ-Series zone amplifiers where we’ll be demonstrating how the MZ-CTRL app can be used in conjunction with the MZ-140DX, to power and support smaller installations or expand existing systems. Additionally, the PS8 point source passive loudspeaker, alongside a selection of live sound products including the MP2A active subwoofer, MP42 line array loudspeaker, and the Tensor series TRE-1001.

How has your company evolved since its inception?

HH Audio began in 1968 as a maverick electronics company near Cambridge, famously winning the contract to provide the BBC with its AM 8/12 amplifiers. In those early years, the brand was a pioneer across a wide range of technology, from the iconic green-lit IC-100 amplifiers, MA100 mixers, to the V-S guitar and bass amplifier range.

Since joining Headstock Group in 1989, we have transitioned from being known primarily for our amplification into a provider of complete audio systems. Our rebrand from HH Electronics to HH Audio reflects this and better represents our work today. We continue to design and engineer everything in Birmingham, UK.

What’s next for your company? Any big plans or releases?

We have a focused product pipeline for 2027-2028. After two years of heavy investment in our Commercial Install portfolio, that work is now coming to fruition. With that foundation in place, we are now in a position to use that same development energy elsewhere. We have some really exciting projects in the works for the next few years, and it is also a significant period for the Headstock Group as a whole, as our sister brand, Laney Amplification, celebrates its 60th anniversary in 2027, with HH Audio following for its 60th in 2028.

PLASA Focus Leeds returns to the Royal Armouries from 12-13 May 2026.
