Sofia Alexiadou
Lighting Designer; Programme Director Creative Lighting Control and Light in Performance,
Rose Bruford College
Born in Piraeus, Greece, Sofia studied Italian Language and Literature. She continued with postgraduate studies (MA) at the Faculty of Theatre Studies (National and Kapodistrian University of Athens), where currently she is a PhD candidate. During 2009/11 she worked as an assistant to the Greek acclaimed LD Lefteris Pavlopoulos. She has designed lights for more than 130 performances across different genres and theatres across Europe (Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus, Greece, Little Theatre of Epidaurus, Greece, Odeon of Herodes Atticus, Greece, Greek National Opera, Polish National Opera, Opera di Bologna, Welsh National Opera, Greek Festival, Opera di Bologna, National Theatre of Greece, Onassis Stegi, Greece, Teatro di San Carlo, Naples etc). Sofia is a Programme Director for the BA (Hons) Creative Lighting Control and the MA Light in Performance courses at Rose Bruford College.
